How about we sound off on points of inquiry around lessons we plan to teach or have taught.  Can you share an ELA topic you want to know more about, or want to try a new way to teach?

Once we get started, please read other comments so that we can get conversation threads going.  I will start with a response.

Please take time to review the revised compostion goals for this (baseline) common assessment.  Which of these goals have you already taught?  Which do you plan to teach soon?  Do you see any as  a) unachievable   b) unnecessary c)  redundant or e) mysterious :) ?

How do/did you feel teaching this unit?

What did you like about it specifically?

What did you dislike?

Will you use the module again with other readings?

After looking at the composition goals, what do you think about this approach to improving Tennyson student writing?

Do you see any real or potential problems with this approach?  If so, what?  Would you add any more to this draft?  If so, what?

1)  How confident do you feel incorporating department goals, including SIOP strategies, into your current classes; particularly considering our schedule restraints?

2)  Describe, in detail, effective practices you would like to share with the department:

We know we have a lot of expertise within this department; a lot of talented teachers. It would be great to know how you think we can move forward effectively and harmoniously. Please leave a comment on any suggestions you have for department this year. What would you like to see accomplished?
